Biog.
Raised in Wicklow, Ireland, and based in the UK, Rich McMahon has gained a reputation as an excellent writer and interpreter of songs in a variety of genres, and and as a performer who actively engages with his audience. Five years ago he quit his job at a sawdust factory to pursue music full-time and has never looked back.
In recent years Rich has recorded music for a film, released an album of original songs with UK based Irish band, The Teds, and worked with Rolf Harris at Shepperton Studios. His songs have gained extensive airplay in the UK, Ireland, Australia and USA, and has performed live sessions at the BBC (including an interview on the Janice Long show) and various radio stations in the UK and Ireland.
As well as writing and performing music full time, Rich has regularly promoted and compered live music events, presented radio shows and dabbled in stand-up comedy. His studies in literature and creative writing, and a curiosity about the world around him, have provided a constant source of inspiration for his songs.
